Between the Lines: Home Healthcare Company, ADEED, Offers Insight on the Vaccine Rollout and Community Impact

In line with Saudi Arabia’s national campaign against the COVID-19 virus, ADEED Saudi Medical Services will be working side by side with the Ministry of Health (MOH) in managing the administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine (SFDA approved) in Riyadh and Dammam regions.

Saudi Arabia is one of the first countries to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. It is noted to be the sixth safest country to travel according to Wego Travel’s COVID-19 Country Risk Assessment. The recovery rate is at 97.4 percent and the number of critical cases has fallen below the 500 case mark.

As vaccines are important to ensure the safety of the community and public health, MOH has reiterated the call for all to get the vaccine, including those who have recovered.  The safety and effectiveness of the vaccine has been confirmed by supporting data reports.

ADEED Healthcare professionals will be administering the vaccination in 3 stages:

  1. Citizens and residents over the age of 65, as well as those on the front lines battling the pandemic and people with certain pre-existing health conditions.

Individuals who are obese and have a body mass index (BMI) of over 40, those who are immune-compromised, and any individual with two or more pre-existing conditions such as diabetes or asthma will also be vaccinated in the first stage.

Other pre-existing conditions that fall under the first stage include the following: chronic kidney disease, chronic heart disease, including coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, in addition to individuals with a history of a stroke.

  2. Individuals over the age of 50, as well as the remainder of health practitioners. People with a BMI between 30 to 40 may receive the vaccination during the second stage of the rollout.

Other individuals that suffer from any of the following chronic diseases will also be vaccinated in the second stage: asthma, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic heart diseases including coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and active cancer.

  3. Any remaining citizens or residents who wish to be vaccinated.

Saudi Arabia declares victory over the coronavirus. According to the ministry spokesman, Dr. Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aly, “The Kingdom now has more control over the pandemic. This achievement is due to the community’s adherence to the measures put in place. It wouldn’t have been possible without coordination between the community and relevant authorities in the face of this pandemic to ensure everyone’s health and safety.”

The community has become more responsible and compliant when it comes to their health. They are responding positively to the call to get the vaccine. So far, more than 100,000 people have already registered through the MOH’s Sehhaty mobile application (http://onelink.to/yjc3nj).  The vaccine is “free for all”.

ADEED Saudi Medical Services believes that this is going to be another successful initiative of the Ministry of Health.

Prevention is better than cure.
