Women Empowerment in Action

On June 5th, 2024, The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia's Women in Business Committee hosted an open roundtable discussion in Riyadh, aiming to showcase and talk through the innovative and impactful programs implemented by global companies such as ExxonMobil, Johnson & Johnson, and Novo Nordisk to promote gender equality and advance women's participation and leadership in the workforce in Saudi Arabia.

The event commenced with welcome remarks by Shoruq Makki, Public Affairs Senior Manager at Novo Nordisk and Acting Chair of Women in Business Committee at AmCham Saudi Arabia, followed by the keynote speech by Alison Dilworth, the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission in Saudi Arabia.

The roundtable featured esteemed guests: Shirine S. Solh, Vice President Public & Government Affairs at ExxonMobil Saudi Arabia and Diane Fisch, Business Unit Lead Oncology Hematology at Johnson & Johnson, sharing the best practices and successful strategies that inspired and drove meaningful change for women across various sectors in the Kingdom.

The event provided a forum for open dialog, exchange of ideas and inspired other organizations to adopt similar programs and initiatives to promote gender equality and create a more inclusive and equitable business environment for women in Saudi Arabia.
