2024 ANNUAL general meeting
September 30, 2024
Saudi Arabia
The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia held its Annual General Meeting on September 30th, 2024, simultaneously across three chapters in Riyadh, Jeddah, and the Eastern Province. This marked our third such event since our unification as AmCham in 2021.
Attendees gained valuable insights into the state of AmCham Saudi Arabia through the presentation of the annual report, an overview of our financial standing, updates from various committees, and a summary of our recent engagements. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the speakers and contributors whose efforts made this event possible.
In Riyadh, the event began with welcoming remarks from Darrell McGraw, Vice Chairperson of AmCham Saudi Arabia, followed by insights from Andrew Billard, the US Senior Commercial Counselor. The presentation was expertly moderated by Margherita Ungaro, Acting Executive Director of AmCham.
In Jeddah, the meeting commenced with remarks from Nasser Bayram, President of the Jeddah Chapter, and featured addresses from Dao Le, the US Consul General. The session was moderated by Mohamad Tafesh, Vice President of the Jeddah Chapter.
In the Eastern Province, attendees heard from James Sindle, U.S. Consul General in Dhahran; Jesse Lapierre, Vice President of the Eastern Province Chapter; Majed Sherbiny, AmCham Board Member at Large; and Jennifer Harper, who recently transitioned from AmCham Director of the Eastern Province Chapter to a Compliance and Governance Consultant. The presentation was moderated by William Toerpe, Principal Commercial Officer.
A highlight of the evening was the announcement of our newly elected board members: David Edginton as President of the Eastern Province Chapter, Nausherwan Hafeez as President of the Jeddah Chapter, Jamila El-Dajani as Director of Sector Committees, and Abdul-Rahman Al-Ghabban as Member at Large. Their appointments represent a significant transition for our organization, and we look forward to their leadership!
We also took this opportunity to express our gratitude to the current Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, sponsors, and to acknowledge all Quincy Circle members, who were honored with trophies for their outstanding contributions.
The meeting concluded with a lively networking session, allowing participants to socialize and forge meaningful connections.
